WHAT ARE THE STREAMERS?

Streamers are a symbol of pride within a Young Marines unit, because they are received when an unit award is received. As you can see in the picture to the left, they are prominently displayed on the unit colors.

The Douglas County Young Marines have received 1) National Unit of the Year, 2) Distiguished Unit Citation, 3) Marine Corps League Commendation, 4) Regimental Commendation, 5) Organized Unit Trip, 6) Division Commendation, and 7) Drug Demand – National Level for being awarded the Department of Defense’s Fulcrum Shield Award.

DCYM Unit Awards

The Douglas County Young Marines have been honored to receive a number of awards in the unit’s short existence. We are proud of the recognition that the unit has received from the local to national level. It is a testimony to the dedication of our staff, our parents, and the Young Marines.
